On Monday 5th November year 6 went to a safety course. Here they learnt all about being safe on the internet, the dangers of electricity, how to be safe near roads, water safety and beach flag recognition, fire safety and their responsibilities, and how to keep their bodies healthy. We won the highest score on the day for fire safety knowledge.
Here are some facts we found out:
Smoke detectors should be checked weekly
Setting a fire on purpose is called arson
Most social media is age restricted to 13 years
Electricity can jump, and travel through most things (including us) except glass
999 can get help from police, ambulance, fire brigade, coastguard or mountain rescue
