Man Engine Parade

Last Saturday, Mr Joyce, Mrs Blacklock, Miss Smith and Miss Ross had the privilege of taking 28 of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to participate in the Man Engine Parade to celebrate our local heritage and culture. We met in Willington where the banner that children had been working on with Emma Shankland from Durham Banner Makers was revealed. What an amazing job they had done!

Hunwick Primary School marched with our banner, along with other local primary schools in the area, accompanied by brass bands. Congregating on Willington Town Green, we were treated to front row seats as the story of the Man Engine was told and he miraculously came to life. What a sight he was, standing at almost the height of two double decker buses!

Thank you to all pupils who took part and their parents and carers who joined us.
