Welcome to Sycamore class!
The Year 3 and 4 teacher is Miss Turvey. In Sycamore class we also have the privilege of having some invaluable help, throughout the week from Mrs Oliver and Mrs Elstob. Together, we are dedicated to ensuring children are given the ability to reach their full potential while also stretching their personal goals and successes. We will aim high together to make ourselves proud!
We strive to allow children the responsibility for their choices and education, developing independence and resilience, as they prepare for the challenges of UKS2 and the ever-changing world we live in. Lessons adhere to the National Curriculum while also being led by the interests and engagement from the children, tailored to allow the best possible learning opportunities. We do this through creating an experience of learning allowing real-life experiences to be had, learning sign language, taking part in an enterprise project, performing on large stages, while also learning the foundations of knowledge to thrive and progress.
In the summer term, all children in Year 4 are required to undertake a national assessment of their multiplication knowledge so continuous practise is essential. Further information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/multiplication-tables-check-information-for-parents. Year 3 children will continue to learn their times tables which is supported by the use of TTrockstars and daily practice.
While we strive to encourage our best, we are very understanding that amongst Year 3 and 4 there is an artist, a musician, an athlete, a writer. We look to stretch skills while providing for all learners, in a fun, adventurous, challenging, environment.
