Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our school – a thriving educational community at the heart of Hunwick village.

At Hunwick Primary School, we offer a learning community where we strive for quality, enjoyment and success for all, where everyone is valued. We encourage the development of mutual respect and tolerance as we prepare children for the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of life. Our intention is for every child to learn, achieve and succeed in a stimulating and caring learning environment.

Ofsted (2024) noted that ‘Hunwick Primary School is proud to be part of its local community. Pupils enjoy school. They attend very regularly. Pupils learn important messages about kindness and friendship. They are happy and safe. One pupil spoke for many when he said, ‘teachers listen to us… they genuinely care about our opinions’. ‘

‘Pupils achieve well. They strive to reach the school’s high academic expectations. Pupils take pride in their work. They behave well and they are quick to settle down to learning. Children in the early years get off to a positive start. They learn to talk about their feelings in morning registration. Children also learn important routines and how to be independent. They make pleasing progress in learning and development over time.’

In January 2025, we joined with Advance Learning Partnership to become part of a Multi Academy Trust whose values mirror those of Hunwick Primary School. As an academy school we share expertise and ideas with others in the academy in order to facilitate continuous improvement in the provision on offer to our children.

Visits to our school are very much welcomed, and can be arranged by contacting us by telephone or email.
